Typical price for a derby victim? wasRe: IML: save this from "derby54"

I've been keepin an eye on the particular auction due to it being a 68
model, and the nice apparent shape of the Imperial involved. At this point,
the current bid is up to $1258.00 with the reserve not yet broken. I would
think at this point the car was too expensive to be attractive to a typical
derbyist. But, I have to admit, I got no real idea of what the cut off in
price is for a car to be too pricy to derby. Of course, this doesn't include
the person with more money than sense who'll pour an insane amount of money
into something just to do it. I'm just trying to figure the average cost of
a Imperial bought for derby, and if nothing else, try to price our cars
above that. Usually I'm not for inflating the prices of vehicles, but let's
be honest, if they are that popular for derby usage, shouldn't they pay a
higher price? After all, popularity affects the pricing of most everything
else, why not this too?
