Ouch. Yes, I have heard similar stories, like the floorboards rusting out within a couple of years. Well, part of the reason I'm so interested in this topic is, I'd like to buy a '57 someday. I've just always wanted a '57 or '58 New Yorker, 300, or Imperial. The question is, should I go with a '58 or '59 instead? Are the 1957 cars that have survived this long "okay"-- or do they suffer from the same problems they had when new? Is it possible to find a good, relatively rustfree, original '57??? I would think the values of these cars would be less if so many of them had problems.
