Trailering an Imperial

I assume you are considering an "open" trailer.  An 18 ft. 84" wide enclosed trailer would be way to small for a '56 Imperial.  Even open I do not think an 84" wide trailer would work unless the wheels were completely underneath the trailer. You do ot want to rub your lower door panels or rocker moldings.

For enclosed trailers, I strongly recommend the 102" width  and an "escape door" on the driver's side to get out of the car once you get it loaded.  It functions as an extra garage as well and we can all use more storage space.  Go ahead and splurge for the heavy duty axles, interior lights, and insulation and you will be glad in the long run.

Yes, I drive my cars locally in good weather, but the trailer is great when you have long distances to cover in a short period of time and no time to detail the car once you arrive at your destination.
