Marker lights were required starting with 1968 production cars in the US. An earlier US built car with these lights has had them added somewhere along the line. There is one known 1967 Imperial with the square lights as used in 1968, but there is no way to document whether these were factory installed - personally, I doubt it. Your 1964 certainly didn't come with these lights. The round ones were popular aftermarket kits sold by J.C.Whitney and others, and also factory MOPARs used a similar round marker light, which is what the subject car appears to have. How this could be on a 1968 is a mystery to me, I suspect this car has been rebuilt with 1967 rear quarter panels (it's a rust belt car, so that fits!), and some creative person put the lesser MOPAR lights in it.
