Hello everyone, The weather is finally turning decent here, and I am getting spring fever. I decided to tear apart the doors on the 83 and service the mechanisms within, and to check my illuminated entry. Much to my pleasant surprise, the light and fibre cable all worked, but the lens that surrounds the keyhole has degraded to an opaque milky colour, and will not transmit the light. I am assuming that these lenses are no longer available (I am going to try the dealer anyway). Has anyone every fabricated these? Can anyone tell me if they are supposed to be clear or translucent? It appears that there is nothing magical about them, I may have to experiment with some different plastics. Any suggestions? Also, was this system used on other vehicles besides the Imperial? Thanks for the input, and I will update you all if I find a solution in the meantime. On a related (door) note, were all heated mirrors labelled as such? I have 2 sets of each side, but only one driver side mirror is marked on the glass as being heated. Since neither of my remote mirrors work, I will be replacing them with the ones marked heated anyway, just curious. Cheers, William 83 EFi Edmonton, Canada
