68, R134 conversion



You have obviously found the leak that dumped the gas in the first place ,if
not you have a wee job to do before you
re charge the system .Not sure 134a  is a good choose ,has a bit much
pressure and you may have to change the T X valve if it isn't adjustable and
change the oil for a Polyol Easter oil ,you most likely have Mineral oil
now.Try ringing you local air con shop and ask for a suitable DROP IN
replacement gas .I am a fridgy but I don't work on autos just shipping
containers.If you can get the use of the tools you need I can talk you
through it ok.Just a point for any one doing a change in gas ,you seldom use
the same quantities of a new gas as the old .There is a formula for this
.You will need a bottle of Nitrogen and a regulator for leak test ,may be
about 200 psi .Big Blue or soapy water to find the leak.Make your repair
,test again .A vacuum pump to evacuate the system ,leave on for an hour or
two .Then way in the correct volume of the new gas .You will need fridgy
gauges and hoses to make your connections----- Hey you probably know all
this anyway but give me a call off line if you have any problem I will know
someone that knows more about auto air than I  .Or may be this may prompt
