I think he probably bought it for his personal collection. My experience
with folks like him (mostly Fred and Dan Kanter) is that when something
really rare and desirable comes on the market, they will step up and buy it
for their private collection - they have some really magnificent stuff for
Packards, and I'd be ol' Frank does to, for Mopars.
