2003 Imperial 'Eagle' by Virgil Exner, Jr.

Gee, tell us how you really feel.  I saw some merit in the design, particularly the front end which had some cues from the mid 60s Engel era Imperials, ironically enough.  I'd be more interested in a four door hardtop design, which classic proportions: 6 - 6 - 6.

(Six feet of engine, six feet of passenger area, six feet of trunk.)  As a design exercise, a starting point, the sketches have value, I think.

 

I was in a Chrysler Pacifica yesterday.  I had the strange idea it could easily be called an Imperial, although there never were any Imperial station wagons.  It has many Imperial-esque elements, notably its width and road presence.  Of course, now that Daimler is openly admitting the former Chrysler Corporation is merely another one of its divisions, like Freightliner, Mitsubishi and Hyundai, I would hesitate before advising anyone to hold their breath before there is ever a true full size American luxury sedan from DCA.

I think it stinks. The dropped side line or coke bottle is 65 Grand
Prix. He doesn't know when to stop using Imperial symbols, Basket handle roof (like Crown Vic)? the Script the tail lights the grille.. Why didn't they start with that Handsome 4 door they had a few years ago at the show and do an Imperial number on it ... this looks goofy and old already... I wouldn't want to own it >The Cadillac 16 is much smarter looking.. and that tail ewww...tacky
