Only the newer Edelbrock / Carter Performance versions of the AFB and AVS carb were rated at the 650 / 750 cfm versions. The Carter Performance stuff was rated at 500, 625 and 750. After Edelbrock started reproducing them, they offered the 500, 600 and 750 cfm. The original Mopar carbs werent actually " rated " at any particular cfm rating so to speak, but if you delve into the book, " Carter Carb Performance " they do offer a conversion so to speak to what the oem carbs would flow. For the most part, its a moot point and with few exceptions the older Carter Performance and the newer Edelbrock stuff are interchangeable from a parts standpoint. You see them on ebay from time to time, and as long as they dont have excessive throttle shaft wear or some other physical malady ( like being overzealously hacked on by some junior idiot with hand tools ) you can usually find a good deal on one. Edelbrock just released the AVS series, and there hasnt been new AVS carbs in a very long time, so this should definetly be a good deal. Mikey 62 Crown Coupe
