High Mileage Imperials

I bought my Imperial last fall and haven't put any miles on it as yet. The 
paperwork I received, though, spanned several years and two pieces were for 
speeding tickets.
All had the same mileage, so I can reasonably assume that the odometer at 
least, doesn't work.
On some cars, who knows.
