trunk release record?

The last owner of my '71 coupe, who is now on this list-- George Merrick-- said
that when he got in the car to start it after it had been sitting in his garage
for 10 years, that the trunk release worked perfectly!

That's pretty tight.

(I can't remember the actual number of years the car sat; I know he said it was
a long time.)

Since then I think it must have developed a small leak, because it will not
work if the car sits for a long time. However, I've never actually tested it.
Maybe I will one day . . . right after I sort out my sock drawer. :)
