(was)Young Imperial Owners...(now) Imperial O/D

All
I think that it is unlikley that a Volvo O/D unit would fit , unless their
supplier is 'Gear Vendors'... Gear Vendors makse a unit for our 727
transmissions, it replaces the tail shaft and doesn't affect the trans mount or
drive shaft length.
I got one to use on my Imperial, then decided to keep the Imperial all stock,
so I used it on my Hot Rod that has a 727.
The point of all this is that if you really want and need a O/D unit on your
Imperial, go to Gear Vendors and get one that will handle the torque, and will
bolt up with no modifications. An added side is that the unit will give your
Imperial six speeds forward... all automatic.
