Converting AC systems to R 134

I have been at several air conditioning shops and they say that R134 is on
its way out. New cars with it go about 4 to 5 years. Then it is so expensive
to replace the items, the customers just sell their vehicle.
I just redid my 61 LeBaron with R-12. It still works so fine. I had
trouble with the high side gasket that I kept testing different things. I
finally found a cure. It works even with a warped fitting when bolting the
front high pressure port on the compressor. I used just an o-ring from the
the expansion valve. It is blue and is available thru NAPA. It has been
running now with no loss for two months. As some of you know, I live in Palm
Desert, Calif where it is constantly hot and will be thru the early part of
October.
I got a flier from Tuscon where I might take the 61 Imperial for a show
then. It is a show and swap at Pima College, West Campus on November 2 & 3.

Thats it for now and happy Imperialin, I know I do, a lot, Joe Machado
