Lowell Howe got hassled by the environment people about a hydraulic car lift (the kind that looks like a T and goes into the ground) that he had put in on his property. He used vegetable oil and they left him alone. He said that he wiped his finger on the shaft and licked it in front of them out of spite to prove a point. If veggie oil will lift an Imperial where hydraulic fluid once did, it might go well elsewhere, but I don't have anything to contribute about its lubriaction properties or affect on seals, etc. -Kenyon --- Dick Bachman <hamcnab@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > somewhere back in the cob-webs of my mind,I seem to > remember someone > using vegatable ,cooking oil, instead of hydralic fluid, > in a Packard > convertible lift system ???????? > > dick & jeanette > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ATTACHMENT part 2 message/rfc822 > Date: Tue, 25 Jun 2002 05:54:54 -0700 (PDT) > From: KerryPinkerton <pinkertonk@xxxxxxxxx> > Subject: IML: Fire possibility from 6V solenoid?? > To: IML <mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > > Ok, all you EE types, I have a serious question. > Steve Charette found a 6V solenoid in the > McMaster-Carr catalog.
