Deciphering Engine Tranny Casting Numbers

engine stamp # CH41K9C152409 is the VIN # of the car the engine was
originally out of, Cast # 2536430-6 is just the casting # that all 440's
have. Neither of these numbers will tell you anything. The numbers you need
are on a pad just in front of the intake manifold. Follow this link, I have
posted a picture of one of my 440's with an arrow pointing to the pad that
you need the numbers from. You will most likely have to scrape the grease
off it to find the numbers. The number will include 440 in the number if it
truly is a 440.
