Some of the items you'll want to check out are the sponge rubber door seals
on the dampers that are probably disintegated by now - replace those. Also,
re the varying temp output, don't forget that the temp control motor
responds to input from the in-car temp sensor as well as outside temps -
there are some check-out procedures in the FSM. There is also a procedure to
both check and install the blend air door motor - check this out prior to
reinstalling the box. There are some seals at final installation  that are
better if you add some additional sponge to the face of them -  they just
kinda rest against the mating pieces - this will keep more of the air in the
discharge vents reather than leaking at the interface. Also, I've found that
it's better to remove the blower and housing prior to removal - there are
five screws holding it up. ....Bob Harris
