I wanted to thank everyone for their suggestions on what to use on my roof.
The problem is the roof section is not vinyl at all, but some type of
texturing over the metal, and then primed, and painted. I have never come
across this situation on a car before. The clear guard sounds like a possible
solution, but I think waxing it would be out of the question, and look
horrible, since the wax residue would stay in the grooves of the texture. I
took a close up picture of it today, which I will add to my page on the site,
provided the picture shows the textured effect. I did make another startling
discovery today, and that is that my radio works! I've been turning it on
without the antenna up, but when I put the antenna up today I got music! Duh!
