I have seen these small D.I.Y. plating rigs in action at some of the larger gun shows. These are typically used for chrome or gold plating on small to medium sized (gun) parts. It does look like a paint brush with a wire attached and it is amazing to watch because the chrome or gold just "appears" like majic. The parts I have seen them used on were thoroughly prepped so that was not an issue. The kind of rigs I have seen would be great for small chrome parts such as door handles, seatbelt buckles, knobs, hood ornaments & so forth. I think it would be harder to get good even results on something like a bumper though. (Aren't Imperial bumpers nickel plated anyway)? Any kind of pitting or uneven polishing will definitely show up through the chrome. ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO!
