Spotted while road-tripping in Eastern Oregon: There is a neat little hole-in-the-wall mostly east and a little south of Portland about 160 miles called Shaniko(pop=26). They have a couple of antique places, a Grand Hotel that has been restored, a restaurant, icecream parlor and a museum. The museum is teensy, but the livery next door is full. It's plugged with buckboards, a stagecoach, a covered wagon and quite a few old cars and trucks in the stalls. Unfortunately, you can't get to the cars because the stalls are chicken-wired up, but you can get within a few feet of them. Spotted a white '60 Lebaron(looked good) and a '31 Imperial(didn't look bad either) amongst a gaggle of other vehicles. May have been a couple more old Mopars in there but it was hard to tell...no lites, dark and dirty. I hope during the process of fixing up the town, they clean up that livery and the cars. It's kinda like going into someone's old barn right now, but things are happening around town tho...the wife and her sister were through there a couple of years ago and the population was 6 and there weren't hardly any businesses in town. So if you ever take a wrong turn at Sheboygan and end up in the middle of nothing in Eastern Oregon, you might be close! About 60 miles from the Columbia River. Remember...wherever you go...there you are. Dave 67 std Imperial 4dr sedan
