Well, thank you, for your kind remark! Actually, I should have pointed out that this discussion was aimed at someone whose car uses the older technology (generator) to keep the battery charged. This is an adequate system when well maintained, but with a smaller margin for deterioration and unusual conditions. With ultra modern cars like your 64, the alternator is much more able to provide copious quantities of charging current, so that the system is loafing almost all the time, and you will probably never have a situation in which you have to keep an eye in the ammeter to make sure that you are not draining your battery by running too many accessories at once. The alternator was a great leap forward in automotive electrical system capability, and Chrysler is rightly credited with bring this to popular vehicles with the 1960 Valiant.
