1955 Power Steeering Pump

Hello Folks;
 The power steering pump on my 54' is set up the same way, with the pump
being driven by the tail end of the generator shaft. The only difference
between the 54's pump and the 55/56's is the style of the reservoir. If
indeed the P.S pump on Michael's 55' is directly driven from the belt then
there has to be a separate generator added elsewhere. It would be a good
idea from both an appearance standpoint as well as an operational one if the
original type setup was reinstalled.
 Any Chrysler product with power steering used exactly the same
generator/pump combination, in a given year, so it should be fairly simple
finding another setup if the original is missing or damaged beyond repair.
If the bearings are shot on the generator or the pump needs work, either one
can be rebuilt.
