Ah-HA! I knew the "Crystal Key" was around near the late '80's. Half-way down the page on this site below,in The Warranty section: "To emphasize the higher level of Luxury of the Imperial and 5th Ave,those models are covered under Chrysler's Crystal Key Owners Program, which provided 5/50 bumper to bumper,7/70 engine and powertrain, and 7/100 outer body rust through protection." I believe there were other models such as the Dodge Dynasty that were eligible for the Crystal Key Program too....and it just might have been avail in the late '80's as well. Here is the link: http://www.allpar.com/model/fifth-avenue/imperial1.html What a nice pic of a '90-'3 Imperial on this site. I wonder who's site this is. You know what? I think we are talking about 2 different kinds of keys here, guys. The Cartier design, like Dick B mentioned....and the Crystal Key,like David or Leo mentioned. <shrug> Steve from Albany,N.Y. Date: Tue, 26 Mar 2002 21:52:16 -0800 Maybe so, but as there were no Imperials in those years ("late 80s"), I didn't connect them to the Cartier design keys. I've only seen them in connection with the 81-83 Imperials. Since the key blanks are the same for many years and cars, I wouldn't be surprised that someone could have a set made to fit any Mopar.
