Steve, (and others) Thanks for your responses on the window lift motor question. I have current going to each of the motors in question with the appropriate switch being operated and all have good grounds therefore, I have deduced the motor is kaput. I have been told by a local parts house that he can order them for me and should have a price tomorrow. As I intend to keep this car for a long, long time I would prefer new over used motors if at all possible. As far as ABS is concerned, I had the opportunity to test it Saturday and found it works almost as well as the ABS on my Che*y Suburban. I am pleased to say the least. The lift-motors are still avail. What makes you certain that a motor is
what you need? If the motor is making popping or clicking sounds...and is
just jiggling the window,most likely all you need are the replacement gears.
Replacing the gears at the drive-end of the lift-motor is a piece of cake
once you get the lift-motor out of the door. The gears ARE avail separately.
Usually the back part of the gear strips.
As far as the rareness of the ABS on your '73,out of all of the '73's in
this Club,you might be the only guy here with one that has ABS. I think the
ABS is just about as hard-to-find as the alarm system,sunroof and headlight
washer/wiper system.
