IMPERIAL MODEL KITS...AMT

Stan,

I, too, have a huge collection of miniature and model cars, close to 4,000
pieces alltogether. I used to build, but not anymore due to arthritic hands.
Most of my collection consists of handbuild and die cast 1/43 scale, but I
also have about 250 die cast cars in 1/18 scale and a couple hundred plastic
models that I've built. I also collect taxi's, Citroen 2-CV's, woodies, and
IMPERIALS in any scale! A good source for determining the value of your kits
would be Joe Wheat of Wheat's Nostalgia in Pittsburgh, Pa. I've known Joe
for about 25 years, and he's very honest and just a great guy to deal
with.In fact, at Fall Carlisle last year, I bought a beautiful unrestored
'63 Pontiac Catalina Safari from him. Give him a call at (412)922-0616 for
help with your model collection.

Stan, If you have any 1959 Imperial models please let me know, I would be
very interested in one, since I probably had about ten of these back in
1959, but who knows what happened to them? Most likely lost in moves from
one house to another. I can't remember destroying any of them, like I used
to do to with my old airliner models, I used to like to see the thick black
smoke coming from the burning plastic. Yes, I was a weird child, but I loved
my Imperials, and would love to reconstruct one today. Whenever I go to
hobby shops I always check the shelves to see if they started making them
again. They are getting close, the other day I saw a '57 Chrysler 300m, and
a '57 Plymouth Fury as new releases. let me know if you have the '59
Imperial, either convertible or hardtop. I would be very interested, and
would rather buy direct, than dealing on eBay where most of the friction
models are all warped out of shape. You can contact me off the list at
Imperial59cro wn@xxxxxxxx Please put 1959 Imperial in the subject line, so I
don't accidentally delete it. Thanks, Bill '59 Crown
