They specifically state they did try to advance timing but achieved no
beneficial result.

As for his car going 'faster' than mine, maybe so.  Maybe.  Mine is set up
the way that suits me just fine.  I have no complaints about available power
at any point, plus not only am I paying way less for gas per gallon, I
suspect I am getting better mileage, too.  I could be wrong.
