When I asked that question a while back someone on the list gave me a reply which changed the way I thought about my Imperial ever since, they replied;
It's your car, do whatever you want! My 1959 is also yellow, and generally I like the Imperials in a lighter shade, since it shows off the lines of the car better. When I have it repainted which it does need, I am pretty much set on a tan shade they had back in '59 called sandstone, just to make the car look a little more elegant. Your yellow with a red interior sounds like way to wild of a combination for me, and I would probably change either the interior or exterior color. The color of my car is very important to me, and back in the days our Imperials were being sold brand new, most people ordered the car in the interior, and exterior color of their choice, and then waited I believe about six weeks for the car to be delivered. Very few people bought a car right off the lot, as in today's market. I say why suffer with the choice someone else made! Order your Imperial to your specifications. Bill Melichar 1959 Crown
