Part of the problem is that there are few of these cars left, and even fewer that belong to people who can spend the money to have a skilled person work on them. Nearly all the shops are owned by people who weren't born when our cars were new, so they and their employees have no training or experience working on them.
I have access to an excellent front end shop here in Burien, Washington. I great experiences with them on other cars before bringing them an old Imperial. They insisted on seeing the FSM before agreeing to do any work on my car. I have an extra "soiled" copy of this manual for each of my Imperials for this purpose. I do lots of work myself, but there are things I can no longer do. If the shop isn't interested in reviewing the FSM, or says that they don't need to, I drive away and find another shop.

Call Howe (209) 892-3464 and don't bother trying to fix it its done. the damage that could be done to your car by trying to fix and reuse this part isent worth it. did someone try to press the ball joint out? I ask because a friend of mine had his ruined that way by a front-end shop ----- Original Message ----- From: Jenifer Ogle <jenifer_ogle@xxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wednesday, January 2, 2008 22:28 Subject: IML: Upper A Arm To: mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > > Hi, I'm looking for a passenger side upper A Arm for my 1962 > Imperial as the threads for the balljoint are damaged.
