Re: IML: 1983 EFI "Fuel Dumping"

Bill,
It's been a few years since I had that problem, but if I remember correctly, a Chrysler mechanic told me that if my air cleaner base seal or lid seal were leaking, there would be too much air entering without being registered by the air flow sensor, and cause a fuel-starve situation - too much air, and not enough gas to support combustion. If the air flow sensor is dirty or defective, it would dump too much fuel and flood the throttle body. Just my $.02 worth....

My mechanic says the car is "dumping fuel" and
flooding. I have searched the site and find that the
Air Flow Meter can cause this. Has anyone had
anything else that causes the EFI to flood or "dump"
fuel?
 Thanks
Bill Longest
