Mat, You might kick yourself VERY HARD if this is actually the problem... Check the transmission linkage to the shifter. I now recall my 90 Fifth Avenue had the same problem and I had to adjust the linkage at the tranny by a 1/16 of an inch. The procedure is in the FSM.
