After thinking about it while I drive, mine seems to be low too, might be
the way it's designed.

Hi Mike,
I have an important question for you. I have a 67 Chrysler 300 with the
Budd disc brakes. When I got the car, both calipers were leaking and the
pedal was very close to the floor on full brake application. After my mechanic
replaced the calipers and adjusted the rear brakes, the pedal was still
too low! He claimed it felt; "about right" to him. A couple a months
later I took the car to him again to have him do some more work done. I asked
him to go thru the brake system again, bleeding out all the old brake fluid
and replacing it. When I got the car back, the pedal was the SAME! I've
been driving it like this for a year now. The calipers aren't leaking anymore
and the car does stop effectively. I usually leave a WIDE margin for error
just in case.
IS your pedal low???
The mechanic has the car again now. He's having the engine, and tranny
overhauled and most of the suspension parts replaced. I got the Budd rotors
from the DuraBrake reproduction and I got a new set of pads. I'm having him
install these with the added instruction of replacing ANYTHING that may be
causing the low brake pedal. Any thoughts??
Nick

Subject: IML: 67 LeBaron brakes
Hi all,
hope everybody had a nice xmas. Got my 67 LeBaron back from the shop
today, full brake job, to include new master cly, new soft hoses, rear wheel
cyl, brake shoes, disc pads, and rebuilt calipers, all done in dot 5.
It's so nice to have good brakes on a heavy car. they also changed the rear
axle seals, and bearings. A friend of mine owns a repair shop (Chuck's
Automotive Center, Inc, Salem, Or) I provided the parts, minus the axle
bearings (it took a month to track down and gather the brake sys
parts alone) he charged me $600 for the labor , which I feel to be a very
reasonable amount for the work done on an old car. I gave Chuck an
honorable mention here because his shop has worked on my imperials before, and
done a good job. And might be an option for anybody in my area
who needs work done on their imperial. (most shops don't want to mess
with cars that old) . Happy New Year
