Same here, I did my convert and it's fine.  The brake components are getting to hard find for these  cars, and their brake systems don't seem to tolerate  low usage very well.  mike becker    ----- Original Message -----

 I had to do all of mine with DOT 5 to keep from having to do a complete brake job every five years. Cars that aren't used very much here accumulate moisture in the brakes.

  It doesn't absorb water like DOT 3. Thus, you don't have the chance of boiling the fluid and losing all braking power in high load condidtions, like driving in the mountains. It also impedes the formation of rust in the various lines and parts, for the same reason.
