It does indeed state that in bold face in the service manual. A couple of
mechanics have told me that is BS.

I have to disagree with you as far as the rotors not being turnable.
Usually they can be turned, There is a number that they can be turned down
to. I have never heard of not being able to turn rotors as long as they
meet specs.
