I could be wrong, but I believe that in '55 there is a circuit breaker built into each window motor. I don't know what you mean by "relay". The power window switch and the motor are both rebuildable. The only part of the system that I know of that would have to be replaced is the wiring.

If I am wrong, I apologize and willingly stand corrected.
