Hello Everyone!
Here's the mechanical assessment:
Leaking front calipers (both). Seals dried out and shot
Carburetor rebuild (accelerator pump not functioning)
Gas tank filled with rust and water
Fuel line hoses brittle
Fuel sending assembly (floater and intake hose) disintegrated
Power steering hoses leaking all over
Rear differential seals dry and leaking
Strange electrical intermittent madness abounds
Not bad for a car that sat around for 25+ years, huh?
QUESTIONS:
Is my local dealer still the best place to find the fuel sending assembly? I read the section on this... I just want to know if there is new info.
My mechanic says he can get rebuilt calipers. Should I trust that he can or should I get them else where (as noted in the repair section)?
Once I get the car back from the mechanic, I'll be able to go over the body and interior.
So far so good.
