IML: 57 varieties (was how come . . ?)



Some states still did not allow quad headlights in 57.
 
LeBaron was the highest, most exclusive, read expensive, trim level.  It was almost just a badge thing,really.  Crown was the most frequently purchased mid range trim level.  There was a base model also, that had no designation in 57.  You had to buy the base level to avoid buying leather.
 
As near as I can tell, Imperials were mainly sold at Plymouth dealerships.  There was no separate Imperial dealership supply chain.  I don't believe there were a whole lot of them on showroom floors.  That's why there were so many dealership promotional models.  Almost each one was a special order and you could pretty much order the features you wanted   Extra equipment, such as A/C, could be had at any trim level.
