IML: 1961 Crown Starter Motor Saga

Well, the starter motor is at the starter shop awaiting rebuild.  Said it would be about a week which I thought was a long time, but, hey, beggars cannot be choosers.

Anyway, whilst there, I noticed they had a beautiful Cadillac with the hood up.  Turns out it was a 1941 Wedding Limousine.  I hadn't ever seen one of these before and if it hadn't been restored, then it had been kept in immaculate condition these 60+ years.  As luck would have it, it too needed a starter motor and the mechanics under the hood and under the car were skeptical about finding spare parts for this one.  Thank goodness they expressed no similar skepticism about Gertrude's starter motor.  No tellin' what it is gonna cost though.

Wow!
