SAE30R9 is the current spec for fuel hose. This is not high pressure hose, it is low pressure hose, but as you realize the EFI cars have only 13 PSI from the tank to the engine, so this is OK with the 30R9 hose. The reason for updating from earlier hose (especially earlier than 30R7!) is because of the current additive in gasoline which attack the older hose. If your car has not been updated in the last 7 or 8 years, you have 30R5 or even lower hose, and that cannot tolerate the modern fuels. 30R7 seems to be holding up OK in my cars, but I am replacing it with 30R9 as I get around to it. I have so many cars that it will take me a while to get to them all, but I am very alert to any smell of fuel leakage. Many parts stores are STILL using up their old supply of SAE30R7 - you have to insist on the later stuff! Yes, 30R9 is expensive, but it's a lot cheaper than replacing the car due to a fire! I've been systematically replacing the rubber fuel line on my '82. I understand that new formula hose is required to last with modern/oxygenated fuels. I am wondering exactly what hose rating is required? I believe Dick B. said 309R or something like that which is efi hose going for 7.99 for 18" <gasp> Regular hose (I believe it is 307R) is $1.25 per foot. I understand the car is injected, but the rear pump is low pressure so I am not sure if the injected hose is required prior to the control pump. I don't want to skimp, but this is a cheap driver and I don't want to throw money at it unless I have to. On a separate note: the NHRA specifies no more than 12" of rubber hose on any vehicle. I did about that much (plus 12 hose clamps) just changing the fuel filters! There has got to be a better way.
