I've found a product called "invisible glass" seems to work very well. It is available many places (Pep Boys, Advance Auto, AA, etc.)

I have found that repeated "polishing" does the job in cleaning glass. We use old newspaper to wipe, and the best cleaner we have used is the fairly cheap NAPA brand in the blue aerosol can.
