Re: IML: Speakers for radios 66'

If you don't find any you like, the old ones can be reconed.

I have discovered that here in Seattle there are few if any places that can/will obtain replacement speakers. Most Radio Shacks are these days more interested in cell phone sales and phone cards. Sometimes you can find an older sales person that knows what you are asking for. Car stereo places don't seem interested in helping out either. Most replacements are going to be just enough different that they will not completely fit into your spot, especially the one built into the dash. If you can find an extra front speaker grill, and a place that sells speakers, you might take the grill with you so that you can try to match up the mounting holes. If you can find an extra pair of used Imperial speakers than you could have them reconed, saving you the trouble of taking things apart until you have them back.

Hope someone else can help out with the question about the different between coupe and vert. I think the answer will be that they are different.
