Re: IML: the hot starting problem,,,,,,again!!!! - One Answer Dual Fuel Pumps

Two methods for pre-lube come to mind. One is to yank the distributor and chuck a drive shaft up in a heavy duty drill motor and spin the oil pump (I don't remember if the distributor shaft drives the oil pump on B blocks and RB blocks). The other is to get an auxiliary accumulator, fill it with oil and charge it with pressurized gas (air). Connect it to the oil system via an fitting in the block, and release the accumulator pressure. There used to be a commercial product that did just this. They advertised that it would keep the engine oiled under adverse conditions such as hard turns, stopping, starting, etc. When the car was producing oil pressure, it would recharge the accumulator.

the only thing I don't do but should do is prelube the oil pump before turning the engines over after they have been sitting for months. the dry starts cant be good on the valve train .
any suggestions on a easy way to prelube the engine before start up. or an oil pump primer for the Chrysler RB engines?
