RE: IML: dana factory rear end??

Did Imiperials really come with Danas?  I thought Mopar only put them with 
manual trans or trucks.  The Dana 60 is basically indestructible.  I have 
one in my 'cuda. 35 years of abuse with a 375 hp 440 and 4 speed.  Never 
checked the gear oil. It has never made a peep.  They are heavy though.  You 
can tell by looking at the case. the rear cover comes off and is sort of 
fatter on the driver's side and elongated to the passenger side.  The 8 3/4 
which is what I thought big block Imperials came with has a round case and 
the whole pumpkin unbolts from the front. The 727 is the big block 3 speed 
automatic.  Also fairly indestructible.  You can also tell the tranny by the 
case, but since they didn't make a big blocks 904, it's going to have a 727.
