Re: IML: 72 Lebaron replacement carburetor ? (Repost)

I bought a Carter 9636 for my 69 on the recommendation of Peter Engle. I have yet to install it, but the linkage appears it will hook up. I bought it from Jegs Performance & paid about $260.00 for it. Federal Mogul makes the Carters these days.

you'r post reminded me . holley offers to rebuild any carb that they have made past or present and they have a stock pile of replacement parts , and they say they can rebuild any brand of carb even if its not a holley brand , give them a call or ask there tech dept online, this is what i'm going to do as well. they are located here in kentucky. 1-270-781-9741 7am to 5pm (ct) im not big on holley since 4 different carbs on my truck from holley, until I switched to edelbrock and have no problems now.but if you want original on you'r ride give them a call. hope this info was useful.

Which currently available carburetor ( Carter? edelbrock? ) will fit my 72 Lebaron? I know this has been covered here before, but I would like to hear from someone who has actually performed this swap, someone that can give me specifics like name brand, part number, where to buy, cfm, price, etc. I would like to retain my original air cleaner, fuel line modifications are no problem, but what about the throttle cable and transmission kickdown linkage? Choke? It's time to lay the stock holley to rest...permanently
