yes phil, this subject has been written about several times , 2 or 3
times by myself.
there is(or at least was) a company in Philadelphia pa, called Cardone Industries that will(would) rebuild the units from
an affected car. i had the pump and the master cyl./hydraulic
assembly rebuilt by them in early 2003 for a customers 90
imperial. the main unit had an internal pressure leak that caused the pump to run way too much, causing it to fail also.
after the rebuilds, the brakes worked perfectly .
the customer was happy to have good brakes again, and the price
was right. what it cost to have the whole job done was just about
the cost of just a new pump from the dealer.
