Re: IML: Paul: Documented '60 Imperials.

And one mystery question will never be answered...the car in Germany was sold, so the VIN number will not be provided.

It is possible that it is a LeBaron that had the back window insert removed instead of repaired. To repair these correctly is a nightmare. Some one might have believed it to be easier to remove the insert and install the large window, but I kind of doubt it.

>It is also possible that it is a Crown that was refurbished from a LeBaron parts car, as has been suggested already here. When cars get old people do all sorts of things to try to "put them back together", or as they say, make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

Since are back on this topic, I decided to ask if the documentation is supporting that these cars were made this way at the factory, or is it supporting that they were modified by the dealer?

>I seem to remember that the LeCrown was a Washington D.C. dealer creation. I don't recall, though, the reasoning behind the installation of the Crown leather interior in the CroBaron since leather interiors were available on LeBarons (both Sedans and Southampton Hardtops if ordered) with all the proper scripting and trim details in place. Just wondering...

ÂThe Crown had dealer installed LeBaron emblems while my LeBaron has a custom ordered full leather interior in white, a Crown interior that is factory installed. ÂBoth cars are documented original. ÂThis German car is different yet. ÂIt is a 4-dr. sedan, clearly visible in the exterior and interior shot. ÂHere is the kicker. ÂIt not only has exterior LeBaron emblems but has LeBaron door panels on the interior. ÂI can see the door emblems as well as the LeBarons' horizontil pleats in the lower door panel. ÂWhat I am not seeing is the LeBaron emblem on the trunk lid. ÂThat pretty much convinces me that this car had the front fenders swapped, or the emblems, and the interior as well. ÂIt is my best guess that we are looking at a 1960 Crown sedan with misc LeBaron parts. ÂThe tail light rings are missing as well. Would
