Re: IML: 65 Power Seat Switch Problem

You probably need a new switch which will be easier than trying to repair the old one.  It should be relatively easy to obtain as it was used on several years and models of Mopar.

The new grand dame of Tulsa is back in the shop for the last of her punch list. One of those things is the power seat switch. I need some advice from you experts on it (65Crown 4dr with bench seat). The motors are strong but we?re having problems with the switch. The best I can tell, it?s got up, down, back, forward, tilt back and tilt forward. Right now, the switch only operates part of the time. You have to really jiggle it and then it won?t necessarily go in the direction you?re pushing (for example: push down and it goes forward, sometimes) We?ve also gotten it to react when pushing in on the switch and then pushing forward or twisting but it?s never consistent.

Is this something that?s repairable or do I need a whole new switch? If I need a switch, are there any sources for replacements. I?ve searched the OIC repair notes and found nothing to address this problem.

Thanks for your help.

Casey
