I would concur with comments below. My grandfather was an entrepreneur and and pushed the envelope. Back in the mid 70's he had another Chrysler product with a 400 that buried the needle at 120. In the late 70's he special ordered a truck with a 440 and what he referred to as a "high speed rear end" I believe the speedo went to 90 and I know it would go past that. (I got the truck in '81 when he got a new one.)My grandfather also had a 57 Imperial before my time and he said it would spin the wheels if you floored it at 60. I wish I could have seen the Imperial and experienced it. All I have of it are a few black and white pictures. My 66 and 75 Imperials run up to 90 very easily, and have room left. Seems to me, at a glance, it appeared to look just like an Imperial except the front end and back end were a little different. It was a 440 car. I used to bury the needle at will on that thing. I don't know what the weight difference would be, but anyway, I don't doubt I was doing in excess of 130mph because burying the needle was pretty effortless and there was gas pedal left. Top end was the only way I could catch a particular hopped up 383 orange 69 Charger. I guess I would expect that kind of speed out of the 67. If I felt the need to find out...of course. :-) Dave 67 Haze Green Sedan Covington, Wa. ----------------- http://www.imperialclub.com ----------------- This message was sent to you by the Imperial Mailing List.
