IIRC, the Edelbrock carb is styled after the AFB. The main problem I've heard with them other than basic adjustment is that they are given "general" jets (metering rods) that may be significantly off for your application. This is because they spec the same carb for a Chebby 350 as your 440. When I bought my '83, I was told it had an Edelbrock carb, but it was a new Carter "Competition" AFB
