It sounds like the engine may be idling too fast, and therefore not shutting down immediately when you turn it off. IF this is true, you need to slow down the idle. In the meantime, shut it off "in gear" then push the "N" button after it is turned off. This may prevent the engine from running (maybe backwards) after you shut it off. This "run-on" can cause an already loose timing chain to skip, causing another trip for the car to "jail", and another small fortune to get it out.
