Its not as bad as you might expect.  Sounds like your tank is already
empty so you don't have to drain it.  Just cut the hose at the front
being careful to save the ground strap that goes between the metal
lines and disconnect the sending unit wire..  Then undo the two nuts
on the J bolts at the back of the car that hold the straps up then
pull the tank out.  If the nuts and J bolts are rusty go ahead and cut
them.  You can get new ones easily but fixing the metal tags that they
attach to isn't easy.

New floats, J bolts,  gaskets and sock filters are available at
www.gastanks.com.  There are people out there that can rebuild the
sending unit if needed.
