>From my experience, when loose terminals is the problem, a big spark takes place in the gap between the two terminals, and you "lose power" completely, even for the lights or radio. Its as if somebody disconne\cted your battery. Then you go out there, you jingle the terminals, power is restored, then try to turn the starter again, and the same thing happens all over. If you are watching, you see smoke coming from the loose terminal. Then you hit the loose terminal with a hammer, and it works temporarily. That has happened lately to all my 3 cars, being cheap and using terminals that cannot be tighened any more!
